VIDAWASI and the National Institute of Child Health an area for Advanced Teleconsultation

Lima, Saturday, July 15, 2023. –
In Peru, 90% of treatments specializing in general pediatrics and childhood cancer are concentrated in Lima, which, in addition to existing geographical and economic barriers, has left thousands of children unable to access the health care they deserve and, in many cases, lose their lives.
In response, on Thursday, July 13, VIDAWASI and the National Institute of Child Health (INSN) inaugurated the area of Advanced Teleconsultation, a space that seeks to reduce health gaps in Peru, making available all its medical specialties for thousands of children from High Andean regions.
This collaboration will allow every child that attends our Citadel of Child Health from the Sacred Valley of the Incas – Cusco to have access to services and medical specialists of the remarkable trajectory of the various specialties of the INSN.
We thank Dr. Ciro Mestas Valero, Deputy Minister of Health Benefits and Insurance (MINSA), and Dr. Jaime Tasayco Muñoz, General Director of the INSN, who witnessed the successful remote connection between the INSN and our Citadel of Child Health “Virgin of VIDAWASI.”
VIDAWASI is proud to continue opening its doors to a new form of medical care that benefits thousands of pediatric patients. This achievement represents a significant advance in our struggle to decentralize child health. It demonstrates the efforts to continue providing medical services with high quality and dignity to the most vulnerable children in the high Andean areas of Peru.
